Two Screens for the Arts!
Funded Mar 29, 2021Thank you so much for your generosity in contributing to the Two Screens For The Arts project at I.S.72. The new screens helped tremendously in recording, editing, and producing virtual performing arts concerts at I.S.72. We were able to use them during the last school year to ease the process of taking-in each home recording from our students and mix them together to create a fantastic showcase. The two screens allowed us to see everything at one time to pull it all together. Additionally, during virtual music classes, the two screens allowed me to see them in the Zoom meetings while presenting my screen and delivering instruction on the other. The uses for both screens were truly endless and I cannot thank you enough.
It's because of your kindness and thoughtfulness that the children of Rocco Laurie I.S.72 were able to have the education that they deserve during the tumultuous times brought on by the pandemic. From the bottom of our hearts, thank you.”

Funded May 31, 2021Thank you so much for your generosity in contributing to the Virtual Band Technology project at I.S.72. The new iMac helped tremendously in recording, editing, and producing virtual performing arts concerts at I.S.72. We were able to use it during the last school year to take-in each home recording from our students and mix them together to create a fantastic showcase. Additionally, for our in-person learners we recorded the children at school and were able to mix them with the remote students using Adobe Premiere Pro on the iMac. The speed and capability of the computer allowed us to truly put our students' best work forward. Moreover, we were able to use this technology to additionally film, edit, and produce end of the year videos for our graduating 8th graders.

Marching Into Good Health and the Community!
Funded Oct 10, 2016Thank you so much for taking the time to donate to help create a marching band at the Police Officer Rocco Laurie Intermediate School. 72. By giving to our cause we will now be able to perform in local community events such at the Staten Island St. Patrick's Day Parade and Memorial Day Parade. In September, I'd like to have our group perform at a 9/11 memorial event with the Staten Island Borough President's Office.
Additionally, our marching instrument lyres have allowed us to create a pep band that performs at school-wide basketball games. This has all come to fruition thanks to your kindness and generosity, all while helping to prove our health.”

Funded Sep 16, 2016My project has been funded, and my students and I are all tremendously excited! With your support, we can now enable our students to practice their instruments at home to provide for a deeper understanding and connection to the in-school rehearsals.
This project will specifically allow our students to partake in our concert, jazz, and marching bands thus helping us reach out into the community through events such as parades and celebrations. It will additionally work towards bridging the gap between middle-school and high school.
This funding has come right on time and looking ahead, the students are going to be much better prepared going forward throughout their musical education!
With sincere gratitude,
Mr. Jacobs”
