We have studied the neuron and neural firing in depth. Next, my students will study the brain, its structures, and its functions. We will use notecards, student drawings, a textbook, and video presentations to do this. Working in groups of three, my students will cement their knowledge of the brain by dissecting a sheep brain. They will take photographs during each phase of dissection and create a PowerPoint that documents their group's experience. This will take them beyond defining and drawing brain structures in a way they will never forget.
