Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math jobs are growing at almost double the rate of non-STEM jobs. Only 16% of high school seniors are interested in pursuing STEM careers, according to the Department of Education. I am currently in a school that has an abundance of poverty, and find it rewarding to open the eyes of my students to STEM and inquiry based learning! 5th graders are required to take a Science STAAR test, and are introduced to many concepts all at once! I want to start my 4th graders on an inquiry based road to success! The chosen products will allow my students to work cooperatively and independently on inquiry based projects! The STEM bundle will allow my students to explore science concepts that they will not encounter in their daily life. Clipboards allow for students to work cooperatively during the inquiry process. Many students do not have access to Technology at home, therefore the headphones allow students to research online. A timer allows my students to work independently and improve with time management.
