Your donation to my classroom has been such a great help! My students were so excited to receive their writing journals. We have been able to incorporate daily writing into our morning work procedures and students are able to express themselves through writing!

Additionally, we have been able to practice spelling and phonics skills with the expo markers. Some of my students need additional practice in their foundational skills and this has been a great help.

Since one of my items were unavailable when the project was funded, I decided to order folders for each student to store their unfinished work. This has helped my students remain organized and take accountability for completing their unfinished work. Students now know the procedure of completing any work they have not yet finished once they are done with their task for the day.

Your support is truly making a positive difference in my classroom.”

    With gratitude,

    Ms. Mallon

    Dear Donors,

We have been using out iPads for a little over a month now, and they have and an immense impact on our classroom! Students are so engaged when they are able to learn with technology. We have been able to read books, complete math problems, and use them for research about different topics. My struggling readers have been using an intervention app called Lexia, and one student has already moved up a reading level!

The iPads are also a great incentive for my students. On Fridays, after a full day of testing, it gives the students a chance to relax and play various educational games. We also use it to connect with our families at home through Class Dojo- Parents can see photos of what we are doing in class in real time, as well as check in on the behavior of their students.

We cannot thank you enough for giving to this project, as it has really impacted our learning here in Room 17!”

    With gratitude,

    Ms. Mallon

Our world has become technology driven. My students have access to a program that includes over 2,000 digital leveled-readers that we can use during our small reading groups. However we currently have to print copies of the books on paper, and they quickly become worn from wear and tear. If my students could access the program on an iPad they could use the tablet to make notes, read, listen to, and highlight information in the text. Preparing students for college and career readiness is key and technology is at the forefront of most career paths. Most college textbooks are now available online! Teaching my students these skills will be beneficial for the remainder of their educational career. Technology is a great way to engage students! I can not only use the iPads to have my students read, but to practice foundational skills such as committing math facts to memory. Since many of my students do not have access to computers at home, this is a great way for them to experience how technology can relate to and enhance their learning. My students love to learn, and having these iPads in the classroom will only add fuel to their learning fire!
