• Dear Ancestors: We Understand the Assignment!

  The diverse stories you helped us bring into our classroom have resonated deeply with our students. It was truly heartwarming to witness the girls' faces light up as they discovered books featuring little girls with beautiful braids. They were instantly captivated, eager to learn more about these characters and their stories. Their enthusiasm didn't stop at reading; they were inspired to learn how to braid hair themselves, creating a wonderful hands-on learning experience that extended beyond the pages of the books.

  Similarly, the boys were absolutely fascinated by the book showcasing cool and diverse haircuts. They were so excited to see themselves represented in the stories, sparking conversations about individuality and self-expression. These books have opened up new worlds for our students, allowing them to see themselves and others reflected in the stories they read.

  More importantly, your contribution has sparked a genuine love for reading in our classroom. The children are constantly reaching for these books, eager to explore new stories and characters. They are engaging in rich discussions, developing their vocabulary, and building a strong foundation for future literacy success.
