  • It's Time to Celebrate! We Are Ready to Graduate

    Funded Mar 25, 2025

On behalf of the entire Pre-K class, our teachers, and families, we extend our sincerest gratitude for your generous donations towards our graduation supplies. Your support has made a significant impact on our little graduates, allowing us to create a memorable and joyous celebration of their achievements.

Thanks to your kindness, we were able to provide each child with personalized graduation caps and gowns, ensuring they looked and felt their best as they crossed the stage. The beautiful decorations, celebratory snacks, and keepsake certificates you helped fund created an atmosphere of excitement and pride for everyone involved.

Your contributions went beyond material items; you gifted our children with a lasting memory of their first major academic milestone. Watching their faces light up as they received their diplomas was a testament to the power of your generosity. You helped us create a moment that these children, and their families, will cherish for years to come.

We understand the importance of community support in fostering early childhood education, and your commitment to our Pre-K program reinforces that belief. Your investment in our children's future is deeply appreciated. We hope that you share in the joy and pride of our graduates' success.”

    With gratitude,

    Mrs. Irby

  • Dear Ancestors: We Understand the Assignment!

    Funded Feb 4, 2025

The diverse stories you helped us bring into our classroom have resonated deeply with our students. It was truly heartwarming to witness the girls' faces light up as they discovered books featuring little girls with beautiful braids. They were instantly captivated, eager to learn more about these characters and their stories. Their enthusiasm didn't stop at reading; they were inspired to learn how to braid hair themselves, creating a wonderful hands-on learning experience that extended beyond the pages of the books.

Similarly, the boys were absolutely fascinated by the book showcasing cool and diverse haircuts. They were so excited to see themselves represented in the stories, sparking conversations about individuality and self-expression. These books have opened up new worlds for our students, allowing them to see themselves and others reflected in the stories they read.

More importantly, your contribution has sparked a genuine love for reading in our classroom. The children are constantly reaching for these books, eager to explore new stories and characters. They are engaging in rich discussions, developing their vocabulary, and building a strong foundation for future literacy success.

Your support has not only provided us with books, but it has also given our students the gift of representation, connection, and a lifelong love of reading. You've helped us create a classroom where every child feels seen, valued, and inspired.”

    With gratitude,

    Mrs. Irby

  • Centered Around Learning!

    Funded Dec 18, 2024

We wanted to share an update on the alphabet project you so kindly supported through DonorsChoose, and to express our deepest gratitude for your investment in our Pre-K classroom. Your generosity has truly made a remarkable difference in the lives of our young learners. The alphabet materials you funded have become a cornerstone of our daily learning. From the moment they arrived, the children were captivated. They engage with the letters through play every single day, exploring the shapes, sounds, and textures with enthusiasm. We've witnessed firsthand the joy and excitement that comes with hands-on learning, and it's all thanks to you.

But the impact extends beyond just enjoyment. We've been diligently tracking our students' progress through bi-weekly alphabet assessments, and the results are truly inspiring. Since incorporating these wonderful materials into our curriculum, we've seen a doubling in student growth in both letter recognition and letter sound identification. This significant leap forward is a testament to the power of your contribution and the effectiveness of the resources you provided.

Thank you for believing in our students and for empowering them with the resources they need to thrive. Your kindness has made a lasting impact, and we are incredibly grateful for your support.”

    With gratitude,

    Mrs. Irby

Students learn best when engaged in meaningful learning experiences. The materials selected will give the students the opportunity to work in small homogeneous literacy and math groups to strengthen skills necessary for success in 2nd grade and beyond. Students will use the composition books construction paper, crayons, markers, scissors and glue to create interactive notebooks to use as tools to help organize and process the information taught in class. Interactive notebooks enable students to be creative, independent thinkers, and writers. Students that are engaged in meaningful learning activities are less likely to misbehave or disrupt the classroom environment because they are focused on kinesthetic activities that require their full attention. Increasing students' time in the classroom leads to more learning and higher achievement. Hands-on learning activities also give students the chance to develop positive social interaction skills and problem solving skills.
