I will be using the Elmo document camera to interactively project assignments. This is a wonderful way to teach a new math concept. The students are taking notes in their interactive journal at the same time that I am writing the notes and creating the flip charts the students will glue into their notebooks. This creates less chance of error, due to the fact that the camera enlarges everything that I am doing. All students can see each minute detail.
The Elmo document camera will also be used to edit and share writing journals. A student can place their writing journal beneath the camera and his/her work will be projected on the front board. Students can then help edit the writing journal by giving ideas and grammatical input. The owner of the journal will be able to make the corrections immediately and show the class how their input was helpful. The class will continue until the writer no longer needs their help. This collaboration brings the class together and shows them all types of writing. I am so excited to be able to introduce this technology to my students.
