I have been blessed with technology in my Pre-K classroom. We have five computers and five iPads to use during our literacy and math stations. I have ELL (English Language Learners) students in my class that struggle with language. Having the ability to listen to songs, rhymes, alphabet, sight words, and math games increases their opportunity to hear the language and therein be able to learn it more quickly. However, the problem is having headphones that stand the test of time with four and five year olds. These headphones allow the students to work at their own pace, whether it be at a computer or on an iPad. Technology is great especially when you can hear it! The other items on my list would be supplies that would greatly help in the classroom. The white boards and erasers will be used during large and small group instruction. We practice writing our names, letters, numbers, shapes, as well as sight words on these boards. The pencil sharpener would save me time having to sharpen the pencils by hand. Velcro is used everywhere in my classroom. I use velcro for name tags, backpack tags, word walls, and folder games. Velcro makes life easier when you have two classes and have to switch name tags for morning and afternoon classes.
