Hands-on learning is so vital to the success of our kindergarten class. These math centers will allow them to develop important cooperative learning and language skills while learning the math skills they need for success. Students will be able to work with their peers in small groups using cooperative learning strategies. After I teach a whole group math lesson, my students will be able to participate in math centers while I conduct small group instruction. My students will be able to gain a deeper understanding of mathematical concepts while being able to use their hands to learn. They will use the Magnatiles to learn about three dimensional shapes. They will also use the number lock set and the number peg boards to develop their number sense and identification of numbers. Finally, my students will gain a greater understanding of patterns and geometric concepts via the pattern and tangram cards These math centers will be such a great asset to our kindergarten community!
