  • Let's Walkie Talkie about Economics and Personal Finance!

    Thank you for providing walkie talkies for our high school economics and personal finance classes. These tools have transformed our learning environment in unexpected and powerful ways.

    The walkie talkies are helping our students learn by creating dynamic, real-world simulations of financial markets and economic scenarios. Students take on roles as buyers, sellers, traders, and market analysts, communicating in real-time across different areas of our classroom and school. This hands-on approach makes abstract economic concepts tangible - from supply and demand to market competition and price discovery.

    What excites students most is how the walkie talkies turn traditional lessons into immersive experiences. When studying stock markets, students become floor traders, calling out orders and responding to changing market conditions. During personal finance units, they simulate customer service scenarios and financial consulting calls, practicing professional communication while learning essential life skills.

    The technology has particularly resonated with our kinesthetic learners and students who thrive in collaborative environments. Students who were previously hesitant to participate in traditional classroom discussions now eagerly engage when they can move around and communicate through the walkie talkies. Our more reserved students have found their voice through this medium, gaining confidence in expressing their ideas and participating in economic discussions.

    As a high school teacher I have always been left with a plain black and white printer. It is great and all for worksheets, but my students are just big kids...they still love color! I have asked for almost a decade for a color printer, but my school has always turned me down...but you didn't!

    I have been able to create a gorgeous, colorful personal finance workbook that my students will be able to work through and keep with information that will help them make it through life--from buying a car to reading a paystub.

    One of the struggles for high school students is working together and being committed to a group. These supplies allowed me to create distinct "pods" in my class where students work together in groups that I have created. These groups have all the resources they need to complete all assignments right at their fingertips--and they feel like they are in an office!

  • A Calculator Today Keeps Bankruptcy Away

    Thank you so much for helping me acquire these calculators! For the past eight years I have been using calculators that are so old many of the buttons don't even work.

    My students use calculators in my economics classes in many units, and these arrived just in time for the largest test of my class over Gross Domestic Product. My students could not believe the timing! I spent some time showing them how the calculators functioned, and they were ready to roll! They knew they had no excuses any more, and they did great!
