Our classroom adheres to the "I do-We do-You do" model, which relies on the gradual release of learning responsibility from teacher to students. Since modeling is so important, it is essential that we use the best possible equipment to walk students through the writing process. A document camera allows work to be projected as it is being written, discussed, and demonstrated by students. This is ideal for all learners, as visual, auditory, and kinesthetic learning styles are used within each lesson.
Students will have a daily opportunity to see teacher-modeling of effective writing, to collaborate with peers to improve their writing, and to have their writing voices heard through sharing what they have written.
