  • Fun Flexible Classroom Seating

    Funded Aug 16, 2024

Thank you so much for the your kindness and generosity. Students were so excited when they saw our new flexible seating arrive. They couldn't believe that they were going to be able to work in these spaces throughout the year rather than just sitting at their desks. Your funding of this project meant so much to our class. Having fun and flexible classroom seating has made all the difference in our classroom. Not only do these seats make our classroom look cool, but they help us to work more flexibly with our partners throughout the day. Having different spaces to sit has allowed us to work more productively and cooperatively with others. Students have commented that having flexible seating has made working in our classroom more comfortable and fun. Thank you again!”

  • Storyworks Supplies

    Funded Aug 11, 2023

Thank you again for your kindness and generosity. My students were so excited to see that we have StoryWorks Magazine in our classroom this year. Many of them do not get a chance to read magazines often. From the moment I showed them this magazine, they were excited and couldn't wait to get their hands on it and start reading. Having this resource has been a game changer in our class!

This magazine has provided my students with high interest reading materials that are on grade level and have corresponding online components. The lessons that correspond with each article are standards based as well also fun and engaging. This has really helped my students grow as readers this year.

My students have been using this magazine daily when reading independently and in small groups. When using this magazine my students are on task and engaged in learning. It has been so amazing having this resource in our classroom. I know that my students will continue to make so much progress in their reading fluency and comprehension skills now that we have this resource. Thank you so much!”

  • Storyworks Jr. For Satisfying Reading Experiences

    Funded Aug 21, 2018

Thank you so much for your kindness. We are so lucky that you funded our class project for Storyworks Jr. this year. My students were so excited when our first magazine arrived. They couldn't wait to get their hands on it and start reading. My students could not believe that someone was kind enough to fund such a cool magazine for our classroom.

We use Storyworks daily in our classroom. Students each have a copy of the magazine in their book box and take it out to read whenever they get a chance. Each issue has a variety of articles and stories to read as well as activities. It is the first thing my students reach for when they have free time in the classroom. This magazine has truly created a love of reading in our classroom.

We also use this magazine daily during reading intervention. Students are deeply engaged in the reading and discussions involved with these stories and articles. My students enjoy not only reading the magazine, but also completing the corresponding activities. Additionally, we use the online component of the magazine to support instruction. My students love the read along videos and the vocabulary cards. These materials really help support deep understanding of the reading for all my students. This magazine has made reading both fun and engaging for all of my students.

Thank you again for your kindness and generosity. We really appreciate the support of donors like you. You have helped make our classroom a more positive learning environment. Thanks again.”

  • Supplies for Success in Third Grade

    Funded Aug 13, 2018

Thank you for your kindness and generosity. The school supplies that you funded through this project really helped us to get the school year started off right. When the box arrived, my students were amazed that someone would want to help our class. As I opened the box and showed them the items that would be used in our classroom, many of my students smiled and some even cheered. They were so excited to see new pencils, expo markers, highlighters, notebooks, and other school supplies. Many of my students are unable to buy their own new materials and were so happy to see that they would have exactly what they need to learn each day because of your donation.

The majority of the materials are used daily during lessons. For example, the expo markers and erasers are used during math instruction so that students can solve and share math problems on white boards. Also, students use pencils, highlighters, and notebooks daily during ELA instruction. Students will continue to use these materials as well as all other items as the school year continues. We use the majority of the supplies you donated on a daily basis so rest assured that the materials purchased are being put to good use.

We really can't thank you enough for your support. My students are so grateful for supportive donors like you that have helped us this year. Thanks again for your donation to our classroom.”

Learning to read is a fun and exciting process. My students are eager to learn and master grade level literacy skills. However, this can often be a challenge for them as they come to third grade with varying academic strengths and weaknesses. My students need fun and engaging literacy centers that can help them achieve their individual literacy goals. I am asking for a complete set of Reading & Writing File Folder Games, a boost comprehension teaching center, a set of building fluency cards, and a set of common core language practice cards for our centers. Having a variety of literacy centers will allow my students to practice skills and strategies taught during whole and small group lessons in exciting new ways. These centers will also provide additional differentiation during our literacy block to ensure that all students are being challenged as well as working at their level to achieve their learning goals. Through the use of these centers, my students will be working cooperatively with a partner or small group which encourages them to learn from one another to waste new concepts. These centers will allow students to feel like reading and writing can be fun as well as meaningful as they work to achieve their personal literacy goals. These centers will be utilized daily during our literacy intervention block to provide students will small group skills and strategy reinforcement. During this time, I will also provide students with small group literacy skill intervention to give students additional instruction to ensure that all students are making growth towards achieving their literacy goals.
