My kindergarteners need a listening center where their focus is entirely on reading books, following along to ABC chants, nursery rhymes, and reading interactively to foster literacy in a very enjoyable manner. My students are learning Spanish in our dual language classroom and a listening center will expose them to more Spanish vocabulary, rhymes, songs, and literature that would otherwise be impossible. A listening center will provide my students with valuable exposure to literature in their language of instruction. My students will be able to hear fluent Spanish with proper pacing, intonation, and expression. Listening to stories will also lead to comprehension skills and enhance oral language development. This project will be very educational!
