When students are uncomfortable they tend to be distracted and unproductive. This is something we are trying to improve in the classroom. Adding additional flexible seating options like the balance balls and wobble seats to our classroom will allow our students various ways to sit. Through doing this we hope it will then lead to students who are calm, focused, and productive. Children need to move. Flexible seating allows them to wobble, rock, bounce, lean or stand. Studies show that all of these things increase oxygen flow to the brain, blood flow and core strength. In turn, the students will also be burning more calories and increasing their metabolism which leads to students minds being more alert and focused.
