With rising temperatures in Denver, it has become necessary to cool down the temperatures inside classrooms to create comfortable and endurable learning environments. Additionally, this year masks are required among staff and students and fans are prohibited to prevent the spread of Covid-19. Studies have shown that hot temperatures create uncomfortable and, at times, unbearable learning environments, which leads to lower academic achievement and disruption of learning. Additionally, these impacts are magnified for low-income students and those from minority groups as these students are more likely to live in hotter counties and attend schools without air conditioning. This air conditioning unit will allow my students to better access their education!
