  • Picturing Student Success!

    Funded Jul 29, 2024

This is awesome news! Our project is fully funded due to your generosity! I am so grateful for your support. I can't wait for the camera to come and school to start so we can start building our classroom community! I can't wait to show the pictures.

    Your gift is truly appreciated.”

    With gratitude,

    Mrs. Sergent

  • Quilting Together Classroom Culture

    Funded May 24, 2018

I would like to express my deepest gratitude for the donations which allowed my students to make their quilts again this year. The students are justifiable proud of the work they have done. The quilts have helped to create a classroom culture that values hard work and supporting each other. Students are looking forward to sharing their work with their parents and guardians during conferences! In fact, students from last year have been coming into the room to admire this year's quilts. The quilts have become a positive focal point for this years 10th graders, as well as the whole school!

    Deepest thanks to all!!”

    With gratitude,

    Mrs. Sergent

  • Oh No! There Are Too Many Books!

    Funded Jun 28, 2018

Thank you so much for contributing to my classroom. The new book bins have created just the impact that I was hoping to have!! My current students started happily browsing and signing out books, even before I had the sign out forms ready. It's a great change! As for my former students, once they saw the bins, they wanted to know why I hadn't done that for them!! I have also brought in some plush animals and rug to complete the reading nook. You wouldn't think high school students would use the nook, but they have surprised me and really seem to enjoy it.

Having an accessible library has now given me the ability to have reading days in the classroom. Although we do use the school library, having a classroom library makes sure that all students can have something to read. Thank you so much for helping me create an accessible and cheerful classroom library. My students and I thank you!”

    With gratitude,

    Mrs. Sergent

Each year I have about 100 eager 10th grade English students and 25 awesome 12th grade Advanced Placement Literature students. My school, and my students, are wonderfully diverse. My students and I work very hard to succeed in all aspects of life, despite the barriers being in a high poverty school district.
