I chose the two different rugs in order to create two different learning zones. I chose the white rocking chairs so that students who need to be moving can move without being disruptive. The students will be able to take care of their need to move while taking care of the assignment that needs to be completed. The lamps are going to be used to create a toned down environment, especially for those who are bothered by the regular classroom lighting.
Students learn differently and I would like to do everything possible to reach my students. They have different needs and the end result is that students find what works for them and the environment that best suits them. When my students feel they have a choice and have ownership in their space, they perform better and work better.
