Let Me Hear Your Voice
Funded May 7, 2024Thank you so much for your generous donation to my high school media center. I know this item will increase engagement for my students and staff during lessons and meetings. My hope is that this speak will also help build confidence in my students. I could not have a successful program without support from people like you!”

Funded Sep 1, 2023Thank you again for your generous donations. My students were so excited to see the new equipment in our media center makerspace and all of the items are used multiple times a week.
The Cricut machine is set up on a mobile cart for teachers to check out and take to their classrooms, and the two heat presses are in the makerspace for teacher and student use. We have been able to make many projects including T-shirts for school clubs, increasing accessibility by keeping costs down for our Title I students. Our Teacher Cadets use the machines to make items for counselor and teacher appreciation days, and our Entrepreneurship and Marketing students have come to the media center for design lessons and will soon launch their own store with items created with the new machines.
Some of our next steps is to open the school makerspace during lunches and before and after school to increase usage and allow more students the time and opportunity to be creators in the media center. However, none of this would be possible without donors like you!”

Funded Feb 8, 2023Thank you so much for your contribution to my 3D printing project. Before I came to this school, our students had no experience with 3D printing or computer aided design, and I knew this could be an impactful way to provide a new learning opportunity for them. I also hoped it would grow into many collaborative opportunities with other teachers bringing their classes to the media center for lessons on design.
Since receiving our 3D printer and supplies, I have had several classes come to our media center to learn about it. Our Teacher Cadet classes had a lesson on familiarizing themselves with new technologies as the next generation of teachers, and each student designed and printed an item that they could present to their teacher advisors during their end of semester internships. Our Carpentry I and II classes are learning how to design and print pieces to attach to their custom built wood designs (ex. one student is designing 3D turrets to go on top of a small castle dollhouse). I have also taught many students individually to create 3D designs during our morning Learning Hub before school. Finally, several teachers have requested designs to go along with their lessons. For instance, one Math II teacher requested cross sections of prisms to demonstrate to her classes.
This has been a very exciting addition to our high school media center, and it would not have happened without donors like you. I truly appreciate all you have done to bring this new technology to our school.”
