Fun with Foundations!

I would love to share with you, the impact that you made in my classroom! Because of your generous contribution, these second grade children are on their way to mastering the basic foundational skills needed to be successful readers, writers, etc.! I wish I could have recorded the children's expression; full of excitement when I shared with them the phonemic/phonics learning materials. I introduced and modeled the purpose of the "learning game, the skill they will practice, etc. The most "popular" learning game is the "Sight Word - Pop It Game"! The kids love it and beg to go to this center every day!!! Most children have learned 75 or more sight words!! At this rate, they will end second grade reading all 200 sight words! The next popular center is the "Sound Switch". Here, children are able to manipulate initial letter sounds to make new words, which is crucial for early readers. This learning game helped my entire class master identifying initial, medial, and final sounds! Overall, every child has made and continue to make progress in reading because they're engaged in learning activities geared at their individual needs! Thank you once again for making a huge difference!”
