These materials will help me make my pre-k classroom centers fun, engaging, and purposeful. Having fun, engaging, and purposeful centers will help my students learn in a high quality early learning classroom. It is my goal to offer my students the best learning environment possible by increasing the expectation for high quality learning.
The Magna-Tiles Starter Set, Alphabet Learning Locks, Magnetic Letter Builders, Letter Recognition Instant Learning Center and other requested items will be used to create purposeful learning centers in all content areas, math, reading, science, and social studies. This year we will be working with a new curriculum, Frog Street. I plan to integrate these materials into the nine thematic units Frog Street offers: My School and Me, My Family and Friends, Giants, Choices, Stories and Rhymes, I Build, I Create!, Things That move, Animals, and Changes. These materials will be used on a a daily basis by my student in centers such as: reading, math, science, art, dramatic play, construction, writing, and alphabet. These materials will make a positive impact in my students learning because otherwise without these donations our classroom's learning centers would not be as effective.
These materials will help me teach research-based instructional strategies which support all of my students and addresses their special needs. Developmentally appropriate centers help promote oral language skills. All of my students come to me with low or sometimes any oral language skills. When we as teachers provide students with free choice centers, this allows students to purposefully play and learn with other children. It is very important that the students feel safe and comfortable in their learning environment so that their oral language skills develop as they learn through play.
