My Head Start Pre-K students will have the opportunity to develop science inquiry skills, while cultivating a love of books through early literacy experiences. These materials will encourage curiosity in my students, and a desire to learn more about the world around them. A connection between "home and school" will be enhanced by giving children books, and impressing upon parents the importance to read to their children at least 20 minutes a day. Sand and water play is an "open-ended" activity that will allow my students to explore science concepts through their senses, and be creative! The possibilities are endless!
