Funded Feb 4, 2024This project has impacted my students in such a magnificent way in that they now have snacks that I can use to help facilitate the learning process. The snacks are used for the students that are shy and not able to get up in front of classmates and engage in the classroom activities. The students see them as rewards and they look forward to receiving them in return for completing activities that are fun but yet enriching and fundamental for their learning. The snacks help them engage themselves in projects that they may have gotten a zero for participation beforehand.
The students express their gratitude daily and I have incorporated the snacks into the assignments and use them as everyday living skills that they will use daily once they get out of high school. My students are on the spectrum and all of them have learning disabilities that keep them from learning at the pace of their peers and also impedes them from having the same access as their peers. Again they are extremely grateful and although they have disabilities, they have found a way to use it to assist them in their day to day activities.”
With gratitude,
Ms. Sallie
