AP Bio Students Learn Protein Structure!

Funded Dec 18, 2016

Thank you so much for supporting my students. The students in the AP Biology class have been able to use this material to better understand the structure of proteins. We have been recently doing the topic of genetics and have spoken about how proteins can be involved in specific genetic diseases and have built the protein hemoglobin to understand how it helps to carry oxygen. We are very happy to have these manipulatives as many students have said that this has really helped them to understand how structure can affect function, a big theme throughout our course! Upon first sight at the materials the students were very happy to be able to have something else to enhance their learning. It seems that the students learn better when they have something to make the learning more of a visual and tactile process. The next steps will be for the students to build different proteins and compare their structural differences and see how they function. Thank you again for making my students learning more memorable.”

With gratitude,

Mrs. Rodriguez
