A large part of my teaching philosophy is to create a classroom that not only facilitates learning, but also inspires students to feel empowered in their learning through ownership and choice. Once of the ways that this happens is by allowing my students the opportunity to create and explore with resources that are often out of reach beyond the four walls of our classroom. With your help, we will be able to use 3D printers to help my students learning transform from a two dimensional drawings on paper, to a tangible three dimensional object that they can hold in their hands! Engineering and the design process are propelling our world into something that we, at one time, could only dream of! If there is anything that we have learned through the last 2 years in this pandemic, it is that technology can make the impossible seem possible. My students have been forced to grow at substantial rates, just like technology has. They have had to adapt to learning virtually, in a blended setting, and find ways to support their own learning. My goal with this project is to help my students continue that growth. I want them to be able to learn that through the design process, and with the help of amazing technology, they can make whatever their brains can dream up!
