The science kit will be used in my classroom by giving my students more options of materials to use on a daily basis. Having more science materials will keep my students interested and excited in learning through these science and literacy activities. Interacting with their peers is an essential part of my classroom and by working together and sharing the materials it gives them an opportunity to learn and develop those social skills. The science kit and fishing for sight words will be used for center time where my students can use these hands on materials to manipulate and flourish their science and literacy knowledge. The science kits align with my themes and common core standards as I teach different units throughout the year. Recognizing sight words will help my students in beginning reading skills. Literacy activities in my classroom with support letter recognition being that most of my students are academically low when starting school in September. Having these materials will also prepare them for kindergarten as we progress through the year.
