Hard Work Is Rewarding
Funded Aug 14, 2024I would like to thank you for helping my class earn test dividers and incentives that are helping us daily. Thanks to your generosity, students can easily take tests or complete work independently without needing to move our desks apart. This saves us a tremendous amount of time.
The students have also been able to earn incentives and create fun artwork using the supplies purchased in this project. The students have really enjoyed creating scratch artwork - displaying their creative designs for others to see. Once again, we really appreciate your support!”

Funded Aug 14, 2023Due to your generosity, our class is now enjoying not only the chair pockets we were hoping for, but a few games for our recess times as well. The original chair pockets were not available, so we chose a different set. We were then able to buy a few extra things to enjoy like checkers and chess which was very exciting for the students.
As you can see in the pictures I have posted, these chair pockets are being put to good use. They have freed up a lot of space in our desks and are extremely helpful at keeping supplies close at hand. Thank you so much for helping our classroom! We appreciate your kindness tremendously.”

Hands-On Learning
Funded Aug 9, 2022Our class is currently enjoying the materials we received due to your generosity. We were able to receive hands-on science materials, including models for plant and animal cells, activity materials for transverse waves, the human heart, and math, science, and thinking games.
The students were extremely excited to receive all of these different items and continue to enjoy them daily. I have students who have now been learning chess during their free time and are increasing their critical thinking skills.
We will continue to use these supplies throughout the year. They will help us with our class units but will also be used with small groups and independent learning. Thank you very much for your generosity that has helped us so much. We are very grateful for donors like you!”

Funded Dec 1, 2020Through your generous donations, our class was able to receive two Chromebooks this year. They have recently arrived and have helped us tremendously during this very difficult year of trying to navigate online learning, distance learning, non-traditional schedules, and social distancing due to Covid-19.
When we first started coming back into class on an A/B schedule, we were told we had to space students 6 feet apart and that meant we needed to move certain classroom stations around or eliminate them altogether. Our classroom desktop computers were too close together so we weren't able to use all of them as we had done in the past. By having the Chromebooks, students are able to use them at their own seats, and they can then be disinfected for the next user which allows us to remain in our own areas.
Thanks to all of you for helping us this year. With these Chromebooks, we can continue learning and practicing social distancing at the same time. These will be extremely helpful for us as the year continues even if Covid restrictions are lifted. Online lessons and learning have become part of our everyday routine. Thank you all again!”

Funded Dec 11, 2020Thank you all so much for helping our classroom subscribe to Brainpop this year. The students love the program, and they were very excited when I told them we would be getting it. They were very glad to hear this had been funded by the generous donors on Donors Choose.
Brainpop is an online program that is full of interesting topics and helpful information. The videos are engaging, and the quizzes are great for classroom discussions. This program has helped to reinforce the topics we're covering in our 4th grade content, and the students love using it. When I haven't assigned a Brainpop video for the day, the students are usually begging me to do it! That's pretty amazing when students are actually begging to do a lesson.
My students and I would like to thank you all again for helping us with this program. During such a difficult year, this has been especially helpful in keeping my students motivated and interested in learning. We appreciate your generosity.”

Mrs. Kitterman
Engaged With Movement!
Funded Jun 28, 2016Dear Donors,
I would like to thank everyone who donated to our classroom project this year to buy a complete class set of stability balls. The students use these each day in place of their regular chairs. Our classroom is a busy place, and using these allows the students to expend a bit of energy while still remaining focused on our lessons.
Not only have these balls helped the students move a bit more, but they have also been a great motivator for making good decisions. After discussing the rules for using these correctly - as a chair and not a toy - the students know that sitting on these is a privilege that they don't want to lose. They follow our safety rules for sitting correctly, and they are still able to enjoy the movement that these allow throughout the day.
When I told the students that we were able to purchase these because of the donors who contributed money to our classroom, they looked at me like they were amazed that people who didn't know them would be so generous. One student said, "Wow! That's amazing!" Even though my students are still quite young, they recognize and appreciate the generosity that you've all shown to our class. You would not believe how excited they have been to be able to use these each day! Thank you all again!”
With gratitude,
Mrs. Kitterman
