Food for Thought
Funded Dec 5, 2024Thank you so much for your generosity in helping fund my project, Food for Thought. I appreciate each one of you! These snacks will feed my Transitional Kindergartners a daily snack through the rest of the school year. Students will be able to choose a snack they would like and now that you have supplied me with so many crackers, granola bars, etc. I will be able to occasionally supplement the snacks with fresh fruits, carrots, and/or string cheese. I am so grateful for your kindness in helping me supply the snacks for my wonderful students! Thanks again!”

Funded Mar 22, 2022Thank you so much for contributing to my social/emotional learning project, Calming Cats. My kindergarten students were so excited when they saw the cats! Each student had their own cat that they could keep with them when sitting on the carpet for instructional times. The weighted blue cats helped students to focus better who were typically unable to sit still and listen. The other cats were not weighted as most students didn't need the extra sensory support. The cats made a huge positive impact for students! Not only did the cats help increase listening skills but also brought a sense of community and caring to our room. The students became very attached to these listening buddies and frequently asked to have the cats sit by them on their desks as well! I really appreciate every donation to my project; I could never have provided my students with such great social/emotional support without your help!”

Funded Dec 1, 2021Thank you so much for all of the donations to my class project, Food for Thought. My students were astounded by the amount of snacks in our cupboards!
The supplies arrived during a two-week shutdown due to Covid, with classes being taught online. When the students returned to in-person learning they were so excited at snack time when I opened the cupboards!
Everyday we have a snack and my students never go hungry thanks to your generosity! Having snacks readily available allows me to give someone a snack during other times as well, if they are tardy and miss breakfast or lunch. Thanks again!”

Funded Nov 1, 2021Thank you so much for donating to my project, Wonderful Kindergarten Writers. My students were amazed when all of the supplies arrived! I explained how people donated money to purchase these items just for them to use in our classroom. Students kept saying how nice the people were to do that.
We received Feelings Journals, whiteboard markers, washable markers and stickers to aid us in our writing activities. Everyday students are using the whiteboard markers, they especially like having multiple colors. We write in our Feelings Journals 3 times a week. Students are becoming more comfortable expressing their feelings and continue to grow their independent writing skills.
Thanks again for making these items accessible for my kindergartners! You have definitely made a positive impact on their learning this year!”

Funded Feb 28, 2021Thank you so much for your generosity in funding my project, "Healthy Focus on Feelings." My students were thrilled to receive all of the supplies that were part of the project. The individual kits that I put together for each student included the sensory items, such as a feather, animal squishy, stone heart, soft furry pompom, etc. made a big difference for students coping with the stresses of online learning.
During our online zoom class we utilized the Feelings Journals to write and draw about our feelings and used them as a springboard for class discussions on feelings and calming strategies. We also used our Breathe Like a Bear books for trying out different breathing and meditation activities. Students were able to use them with their families to teach calming techniques as well.
My students and I really appreciated your contributions to ensuring we had great mental health supports and social emotional learning materials during the challenging time of online kindergarten! Thanks again”

Funded Dec 1, 2020Thank you so much for your generous donations to my classroom project, "Academic Engagement through the Arts." Our supplies arrived and were put out for pick-up at the school. The students were amazed when I told them that people donated money to help them get these supplies! The whole class was so excited!
Everyday during our Zoom live instruction class time, students are using the items that were donated. Art is being woven into other academic areas, which is possible now that all students have the same art supplies. After reading a story students can draw a picture and retell the story to someone at their house or show sequencing or comprehension...the possibilities are endless!
My students have said to tell people who donated, "Thank you for the gifts!" One student also said, "Those people are so, so nice!" Thanks again for your kindness in helping supply my students with items to help make their learning at-home more fun and successful!”

Funded Oct 27, 2020Thank you so much for your generous donations to my classroom project, "Awesome at-Home Kindergarten Kits." Our supplies arrived and were put out for pick-up at the school. The students were amazed when I told them that people donated money to help them get these supplies! Everyone was so excited!
After picking up the backpacks full of supplies, along with magnetic whiteboards, 10-frames and counters, several parents sent me pictures of their student using the items. Students have said to tell people who donated, "Thank you for the gifts!"
Everyday during our Zoom live instruction class time, students are using the items that were donated. They especially love the magnetic 10-frames & 2-color counters and the plastic sea creature counters we use during our math lessons!
Thanks again for your kindness in helping supply my students with items to help make their learning at-home successful!”

Kinder Computers!
Funded Aug 16, 2016Dear Donors,
Thank you so much for contributing to my project, Kinder Computers! The five chromebooks and headphones arrived shortly after school started in September, perfect timing in kindergarten as much of the beginning days are spent learning routines and expectations. Students were taught about the proper use and care of the new technology station so future classes will benefit from the chromebooks as well.
My kindergarten students use the computers everyday as a center during learning activities time. The children are excited and eager for their turn at the computer station! I have a teacher membership to a learning website that allows all of these computers full access to content areas appropriate for kindergarten. Children are engaged in a variety of literacy activities: learning letter names & sounds, sequencing, sight words, CVC words (consonant, vowel, consonant) and beginning reading strategies, etc. Math skills covered include number recognition, counting, cardinality, shapes, patterns, beginning addition & subtraction, etc. There are also stories, games and songs which relate to seasons and holidays. We are also able to access the student content of our new literacy curriculum on-line, as well as recommended math practice websites.
Some of the children at my school do not have computers at home and are extremely motivated to learn through the use of technology. Several of my students from last year stop by my classroom before school so they can use the computers too! They are amazed when I tell them that the computers were donated by people across the country who wanted to help children learn! Your generosity has broadened their world view and continues to benefit students each day and for years to come.
Thank you once again!”
With gratitude,
Ms. Sablan
