Sanitary Products Needed for Students
Funded Mar 19, 2020Thank you so much for your donations to our school. We were able to help the girls at school that needed the sanitary products that were delivered during COVID 19. The students were so excited to know that I had the necessary items that may have been difficult to obtain during the "shut down."
Stores were shuttered for a few months here in Florida. The school was open to serve meals. I met students at school to deliver the sanitary products. I have a few boxes left over and I am continuing to deliver the productions as needed.”

Funded Oct 23, 2019We want to thank you for all your kindness and support for making our butterfly project such a success. We got the experience to watch the larvae grow into a cocoon and then the caterpillar. A painted lady butterfly emerged after two weeks. We have a daycare center at our school, so invited the children at our daycare to watch the butterflies and than we let them go into the garden at our school. The children were so happy to see all the butterflies at one time. Some of the butterflies left the area. Most of the butterflies that we raised stayed in the garden for some time. Every time we see butterflies in our garden, we think of the experience to actually raise them from the larvae stage. This might sound so elementary, but even high school students took ownership of each butterfly and gave them a name and they were very protective of them. This was a new experience for most of the students. Again, thank you so much for your donation.”

Funded Oct 31, 2018On behalf of our students, I would like to thank you for the generous contribution of the Anatomy videos that were donated to our school. Our school has 325 health career students grades 9-12. These videos have helped our students with understanding the Anatomy and Physiology concepts that are part of all our health classes. Our school has five strands, medical assisting, dental assisting, nursing assisting, emergency medical responder, and pharmacy technicians. We share the videos among five instructors and they are invaluable to us. Thank you again.”

Funded Dec 20, 2017My students were so excited for the donation and these materials have had a positive impact on my classroom. These materials have been used in competition where we go and compete against other schools in first aid and safety. we have been able to perform more scenarios during club meeting and fine tune my students in skill in there trauma and medical assessments. Also during my anatomy class we have been able to have more in depth dissections. Again thank you very much it is much appreciated."
The resources have greatly impacted our learning environment. It has given us hands on materials to better understand the lessons that we are being taught in class. We are now excited to come to class and are better equipped for learning. Using the supplies from this month we were able to go to a HOSA competition and get 2nd place. With the next supplies we will practice trauma assessments using trauma dummies, this will help us in our field because we will know the proper procedures for trauma victims.
Through this project, we learned how to administer CPR to both adults, children and infants. We hope to get the new supplies to better further our education. Thank you in advance for your continuous support."”

Funded Oct 23, 2017My students really appreciated the donation to our project,"Let Us Help You With Your Oral Hygiene." We have really impacted the students that attend our school. We have been educating the high school students grades 9-12. We also educate those students who attend our onsite day care center. The microscope that was donated enables us to show students the plaque and bacteria that accumulates in their mouth. We hope that over time this actual activity will give students the ability to learn from us, but also give students the opportunity to talk to family members concerning their oral health.
We now know that oral hygiene impacts the overall health of an individual. Plaque causes heart disease, cancer, gastrointestinal problems among others. We have developed a big project using the microscope. We have set up a table during lunch time. Students come to our display and receive a lot of oral hygiene information. All of the health academy are involved in this endeavor. It has become part of our health fair that we do every year. We are planning to also host a health academy parent night. We will also be using the microscope in the venue. Again, thank you for your generous donation.”

Use of Robotics for Better Healthcare
Funded Oct 27, 2016Thank you so much for the robotic technology that you donated to my class. They have been busy building the robots. Our hope is that they will help in the simulation of medication dispensing in a hospital setting.
My students are learning to work together as a team to build the robots. Team building is an important aspect in health care. Each group of students is responsible to read the books and write instructions that another group of students follow to build the robots. This also helps students with their writing skills. This, of course, is very important in health care. In addition, being able to follow written instructions is equally as important. We want to express our thanks for your valuable donation to us and the Health Science program.”

Health Field Day To Inspire Classmates To Stay Active
Funded Jun 30, 2016•What about the new product is most exciting to your students. Our students were able to keep a record of the Body Mass Index (BMI) on the I pad. We also were able to access on line resources using the I pad to improve health information that was given to the students. We developed an on line brochure that introduced our event. All the statistics that were collected was given to our PE department. We will evaluate students at the end of the year to see if there is an improvement in overall physical health.”
