Help Fund Art on a Cart!
Funded Aug 29, 2021These carts have been crucial in helping me get art materials to students as I push into their classrooms and teach without an art room. I especially have benefited having a cart on Thursdays when I have 2nd graders and am on one floor of the school. I've been able to organize the cart with drawing, collage and construction/sculpture materials and tools. Students come and get their materials and tools from the cart and take them back to their individual tables to work. It is a work in process and the carts are so appreciated!
One cart that stayed at the upper school is being used by our upper school music teacher, Mr. Arnold allowing him to push his keyboard and other musical instruments around into students classroom. He greatly appreciates your donation as well! We are both so appreciative and these carts will continue to be used in the years to come. Thank you!”

Funded Sep 30, 2021These sketchbooks have been so treasured and appreciated by 3rd, 4th and 5th grade students! They love to draw in them and most have filled their sketchbook up from start to finish already. They don't have art with me right now and have been thrilled to have these sketchbooks to draw in during quiet time in their classroom.
Some classes have used them to draw specific things related to their social studies curriculum and some classes have been using them for students to draw freely whatever they are interested in. Thank you for helping me provide them!”

Funded Sep 16, 2020Thank you so much for your support and donations! Your donations provided a variety of engaging art materials for students to work with both in school and remotely in their homes. Due to the challenge of students not being able to share art materials I needed enough materials to give to each individual. Here are some ways that I used the wonderful art materials provided.
I was able to put together little tins of gouache paint for 4th and 5th graders to use at home. They received the tin of paint, a small paint brush and a few sheets of watercolor paper. With the printed collage papers provided I made individual collage kits for students to use in the classroom. The kits include a variety of pattern and solid color papers and a piece of cardboard for the background. I also received enough small packets of modeling clay that I was able to give to each Kindergarten -5th grade hybrid student that came into school to take home and use. I hope to provide more to remote students throughout this year as well. These are just a few ways I've been able to distribute materials so far and there is more to use and hand out throughout the remainder of this school year. Thank you so much for providing some fun to a very challenging year!”

Funded Nov 1, 2017The art studio stools were promptly unpacked and immediately put into use! The custodians helped load half of them into our principals car and transport them to our other site so that both art studios would have them to use. One custodian even helped make several trips up five flights of stairs in order to deliver them to our fifth floor art studio in an old building with no elevator!
Having stools with the tables gives the space the feeling of an art studio, enabling students to sit up straight and think like artists more naturally! Students noticed the stools right away and were excited to get straight to work on them.
The stools are also much lighter than the chairs that we had before, making it much easier to put them up on tables at the end of the day and take them down in the morning. They are easy to move and slide around the room when I need to organize the studio into different configurations.
Thank you so much for your contributions to this project-the stools will continue to be used for many many years to come and will help foster the creative ideas of countless young artists!”

Student Sketchbooks: Drawing to Open the Mind!
Funded Sep 21, 2016The impact that having sketchbooks for each student is enormous! Recently first graders were inventing a superhero character. Having a sketchbook to draw their ideas was so wonderful versus having to hand out paper to each student and then manage storing or handing the drawings back in. Having sketchbooks enables all drawings to be together in one place and saves lots of time in distributing materials. It's invaluable as well that students can have a book where all of their drawings are stored for future reference.
Thank you so much!!”

Ms. Kirsten
