We hope to get kindergarteners to started their “Inquiry Base Learning” mentally thinking about new ways something can be. The students will learn how to ask “what If “questions and then develop solutions to answer their questions. As they gain new information about the possibilities of technology and simple programming and coding. This is how I will use the Bee-Bots in my classroom: o First we will train the students how to use the Bee-Bots o Each small group will have a written set of instructions to code into the Bee- Bot with directions from a given start point to designated place in their written set instruction. o The use of coding the Bee-Bots will be integrated in Social Studies to help build a model of a community. • The follow-up activity will require each small group to write a set codes for another small group to follow. The group will compose informative/explanatory piece of writing to input the coding into the Bee-Bot direction from a given start point to designated place in their written set instruction. • The students will be paired as they will try and match letters and/or Numbers. o The game will be to find the vowel, etc.…. o The student will have a few tries to get the Bee-Bot to go the square where the letter or whatever they matching or identifying. • Lastly, one or two Bee-Bots will be used as an incentive or motivator for timely completion of work. o I will keep some designated floor space for STEM activities.
