  • It's a Celebration!

    Funded May 29, 2018

Thank you for giving students the opportunity to share their academic success! Students were able to reflect on the choices made and how they have experience growth in all content areas. As students observed their work, they shared how creative their stories were, and some even noticed missing elements. "I should have triple checked my work," explained one student.

As an educator, I am most proud of the confidence shared while celebrating. This party served as a future motivator to continue achieving and developing ways to improve. In our party, we shared tasty gummy snacks, chips, rice crispy marshmallows, and Capri-sun drinks. They were all delicious choices in helping my second graders celebrate their work at the end of the year!

Thank you for giving my second graders this opportunity!”

    With gratitude,

    Mrs. W.

  • A Trip to City Growers!

    Funded Feb 5, 2018

Our classroom has changed since our trip to City Growers! Students are now connecting learning to real world experiences. Exposure boosted student motivation to read and learn new scientific facts. Their readiness to engage in creative imagination with the curriculum study has shown in each unit study.

Some students were caught saying did you know... as to suggest the facts they've learned has just been added to their library of knowledge. While others give the implication of critical thinking when they draw a comparison. My students simply appreciate the experience provided in their trip to City Growers. Once more, thank you for your gracious donation and a chance to change lives.”

    With gratitude,

    Mrs. W.

My students need the opportunity to celebrate their academic success with an end of year celebration to reflect on and articulate what they have learned, and how they learned. This experience will allow them to better identify their strengths and weaknesses. Kids love parties, which is why celebrating serves as a tool for building a connection to the importance of learning. In addition to reflecting and connecting, students will be able to ask questions about their learning allowing them to understand how ideas and knowledge change as they develop. Our classroom provides the perfect setting to capitalize on the learning success of all students, which can influence their perspectives about school. We would like to have some of their favorite party snacks such as Doritos, rice krispies, and caprisun drinks.
