It is essential for high school students to experience laboratory inquiry within their science classes. At my school, we have been getting by for several years with old, broken/tattered lab aprons that do not provide adequate protection. Several of our older rubberized lab aprons are being held together with duct tape, while other aprons I have taken home and have sewn hems/tears as well as patched holes with apron scraps. Students at my high school need new laboratory aprons to safely perform laboratory experiments. It will make a world of difference to our students -- it will not only provide protection, but make them feel as though they are budding scientists.
