  • Moving Forward Into the Past With ESL!

    Funded Jul 23, 2024

Thank you for your generous donation to support our ESL and history program. Your contribution has enabled us to provide essential educational materials, enhancing our students' learning experience. Your support means the world to us and makes a lasting impact on our community. I'm so grateful for your support.”

    With gratitude,

    Ms. Coleman

  • Hungry Students Can't Learn

    Funded Dec 9, 2021

Thank you so much for your generosity! I have had projects fulfilled before and have always been very grateful for the chance to provide new learning opportunities, but this project was different. This was about making sure no student sits hungry through the day. No child has to be self- conscious about their hygiene. Thank you for helping me make school a little more comfortable and student- centered.”

    With gratitude,

    Ms. Coleman

This classroom project was brought to life by Panda Cares and 2 other donors.
  • Odds and Ends to Bring Back the Stage!

    Funded Oct 12, 2021

Words can't express how thankful we are for your donation! We are so excited to get back on the stage and use your gifts to bring stories to life.

We will think of you and your kindness as we work together to build a new world of theatre. Thank you so very much.”

    With gratitude,

    Ms. Coleman

  • Exploring the World from Our Own Backyard!

    Funded Sep 18, 2017

Thank you for your help with this project. The ELMO response system worked great for immediate feedback from the students and gave us a new technology to explore.

The dictionaries and maps were vital to the success of our ESL students and changed the way they were able to interact with the material. Through the year, their English skills improved greatly. They still come to borrow dictionaries for their other classes.

Even years later, the impact of your generosity is still felt every day. I appreciate your help and I know my students do as well.”

    With gratitude,

    Ms. Coleman

This classroom project was brought to life by Sergey Brin Family Foundation and 2 other donors.
  • Rebuilding Drama Club Post-Quarantine!

    Funded Jul 20, 2021

Thank you so much for your generosity! These tools will come in handy as we attempt our very first musical this year! With a real saw and workbench, the students will be able to learn stagecraft and grow as a team. I can't wait to share with you pictures of what we've built!”

    With gratitude,

    Ms. Coleman

This classroom project was brought to life by Google.org and 7 other donors.
  • Trying to Fill the Virtual Gaps

    Funded Dec 17, 2020

Thank you so much for the incredible generosity that you've shown during these difficult times! Although my district ended up staying virtual for longer than originally anticipated, your donation helped me utilize resources in order to provide quality virtual instruction to all 4 courses and 150 students that I am teaching this year.

My advanced students in particular have enjoyed the new access to current events and AP-designed curriculum. I was able to utilize resources that have been created by more experienced teachers and help my students prepare for their national exam.

Thank you again for your kindness! We will not forget the impact you've had on our lives!”

    With gratitude,

    Ms. Coleman

This year, I will be teaching World Geography to incoming freshman. For many of my students, this will be the first time they've seen a world map in many years. While our classroom has 2 older desktop computers, our school does not have a wealth of available equipment. Our district has decided to move to a Bring Your Own Device policy and encourage the use of technology with student materials. Unfortunately, the majority of my students (many of whom are recent immigrants) do not have a device to bring/use. Having a set of classroom tablets will allow students to work in groups and access resources around the world. They will be able to explore maps from different perspectives, access videos filmed all over the world and even connect to students in different places. In 2016, we have so many more ways to show students the world than a flat map on a wall and I want to give my students the resources to explore.
