The students have been working hard this year to keep students feeling connected virtually by sharing online resources and mental health tips. Each week my leadership students have shared COVID resources, celebrated athletes, shared inspiring news and provided community resources.

  • New to the Country and Eager to Learn

    Thank you for the software that supported our English Learners. Through the use of Rosetta Stone students have been using and improving their language skills in English. Students were able to create accounts and continue to use the software during the pandemic.

    Teachers were also able to include the software as part of the classroom and homework assignments. It has provided opportunities for students to engage in a new language in a non-threatening environment while at home.

Students that migrate to the U.S. during high school can feel overwhelmed, anxious, stressed and like an outsider. Much of their uncertainty can come from their confidence in English. I am hoping to create a small space before school, after school and lunch to enrich their English skills. Students will be able to use the Rosetta Software on the MacBook that supports their access to the English language. Even the basic, conversational English, can take months and years to acquire. I am hoping to build these skills to give the students the confidence they will need in their math, science, and other core classes.

About my class
