  • Let the Adventure Begin!

    Funded Sep 6, 2019

Do you love to read books? Well, my students REALLY do! This is why I felt this project was so important for my class this year!

Many of my students are not able to go to the public library on a regular basis so what better way to expose them to interesting texts than to own a classroom library full of them! Your donation has allowed me to do just that! My students read these books in the morning before class starts, during independent reading time, stations, and basically whenever they get a free chance! One student even sneaks reading books in while I'm teaching!!! Needless to say, we all love them! We appreciate so much your donation!”

    With gratitude,

    Ms. Austin

  • Reading to Learn!

    Funded Aug 10, 2018

The year is underway and my students are enjoying every day the resources your donation helped us obtain. The scholastic magazines are by far their favorite and they look forward to new issues each month! They are using the magazines to locate and understand how text features help us comprehend nonfiction texts! They are practicing visualizing/creating mental images as they read and are creating their own text features using the information from the magazines! The biggest hits have been the articles about wildlife! They recently read about koalas which they absolutely loved! They learned about the dangers that koalas face and how Veterinarians and families in Australia are helping to care for these amazing animals!

The biographies have been available for students to read in my classroom library! We will be delving more into this genre in the 3rd quarter of school! The books will really come in handy then as students discuss the characteristics associated with this type of text.

Thank you again for donating to this project! These resources have been invaluable for my students! We are so grateful for your generosity!”

    With gratitude,

    Ms. Austin

  • Building Comprehension, Fluency, and Fun!

    Funded Jul 4, 2018

I have to say my kids have been so excited about all the materials that we have received for this project! They love using the partner scripts during stations and have written some super interesting narrative writings using the prompts. Today was a very special day in our classroom because we got to use the magna tiles and clay during indoor recess! I heard some students say they would rather play indoors because they had so much fun! Thank you for your willingness to donate to this project! My students will surely benefit from everything you have helped us obtain!”

  • Kindling a Love of Learning!

    Funded Jun 7, 2018

I am excited to report that the Kindle Fires are already a big hit! My kids love using them to read books during station time and to play reading games (their favorite). In fact, they love them so much, they get upset if they cannot go to the technology station. The best part for me is that I can download multiple reading apps to meet the various needs of the students in my class!

We would like to thank you once again for your generosity in donating to this project. My kids are already enjoying them and putting the Kindles to good use!”

  • Moving Towards Excellence with Flexible Seating!

    Funded Apr 28, 2018

Thank you so much for donating to this project! My kids were so excited when they saw me walk in the room with a big box. They were even more excited to see what was inside! They are already putting the balance balls to good use. Whether they are using them during stations or during guided reading and math small groups, they are bouncing and working away! I personally love seeing the joy on their faces when they get to use these flexible seating options. Thank you again for your generosity and thoughtfulness in donating to this project. We are so appreciative!”

  • Let's Strengthen Our Core While We Strengthen Our Mind!

    Funded Aug 18, 2017

Thank you so much for your generosity in donating to this project! I knew my kids would absolutely love these stability balls when I set this project up and they do! The first time they laid their eyes on them at teacher "meet and greet", they were so excited. Most of the students spent the entire time on the stability balls as I was meeting with the parents!

My students are using the balls during guided reading and math rotations. I often use them at my guided reading station as seating options for students as they strengthen their reading skills. I also allow my students to use them while they engage in academic games on the Kindle Fires. They love to bounce and wiggle as they work! It is such a joy watching them enjoy these stability balls every day! Thank you again for donating to this project!”

  • Ignite a Love of Learning Through Technology!

    Funded Aug 2, 2017

Thank you so much for your donations to this project! I was so excited to have this project funded because I knew the students would absolutely love the Kindles. They are being put to good use each day in our classroom!

My students are using the Kindle Fires during math and guided reading rotations. Our "Kindle" station is by far the favorite station for my students. They get so excited when they are on the schedule to go to the technology station. I have games the students can play that strengthen skills we are working on in class. They have access to books that they can read and they also have access to books that can be read to them. It is such an amazing feeling to watch them enjoy this technology. Thank you so much for your generosity!”

  • Reading Is Dreaming With Open Eyes!

    Funded Nov 29, 2016

When my students saw two huge boxes get delivered to our classroom they were so curious about what was inside! When I finally let them open the boxes, they were thrilled! They knew exactly what we would use them for and were eager to put the seats to good use! As you can see in the pictures, their reaction was priceless!

We have had the seats for a very short period of time but my students are already enjoying them so much! In fact, the seats are large enough that some of my students can sit two to a chair. They love to use the seats while reading books and it is such a joy for me to see as I am working with my small groups!

We are so thankful for your donation to this project! The seats are a great addition to my classroom and have provided my students with seating options that are comfortable and inviting!”

  • Education Is "Fun"damental!

    Funded Oct 2, 2016

It is always so exciting and rewarding when I get to see my students enjoy being in school and learning. The most enjoyable part of the day for my students is definitely station time. Station time gives me the opportunity to work with a small group of students on specific skills in reading and math while others work with a partner to master objectives independently. Your donation has afforded me the opportunity to provide games for my students that are engaging and fun!

When students are given the opportunity to engage in games that are hands-on and meaningful, they thrive! Your contribution to this project has allowed my students to do just that! I very rarely have to stop my small group instruction to redirect students at stations because they are enjoying the resources your donation has provided so much!

Thank you so much for your generosity in donating to this project! Your donation has helped me create an environment that is conducive to student engagement and learning! We are all so grateful!”

  • Involve Me And I Learn!

    Funded Sep 28, 2016

    Dear Donors,

First, I would like to say thank you for your generous donation to this project. I have some very eager learners in my classroom this year and they are thrilled to have new games to engage in. Needless to say, every resource that your donation helped to provide has been put to good use!

When my students saw all the boxes being brought into the classroom they were thrilled! We "worked together as a team" to open the boxes and view the games and materials inside. Their reaction was priceless!

We are currently using the games during station time to remediate on skills that I have taught in both the math and reading content areas. Each station has a game that pairs of students work on together. It makes learning come alive for students when they can engage in academics in an engaging and real way. I have to say their favorite game so far is the blends learning locks game! They pump their fist and say "yes" when they are on the schedule for this game.

Thank you again for your generous donation!”

    With gratitude,

    Ms. Austin
