That's Just "Ducky"
Funded Sep 21, 2010I want to take this opportunity to thank you all so much for you contributions to this project. It has been quite some time since this project was funded but there were several delays in the shipments of the materials. After we finally received the materials, we were able to start the incubation process.
The students are so excited about this project. Both the ducklings and chicks should be hatching some time next week. All of the students are thrilled to be learning about these little animals that they are very motivated to learn more. They are writing about their observations of the eggs, reading books about the cycles, asking lots of wonderful questions, and working with a kindergarten buddy to help them write sentences about the eggs. The writing, along with the science, was the original intent of the project and it is working out wonderfully and the students are so excited about the learning and about helping the Kindergarten students learn and write about it as well.
Thank you again for your donations that help made this project a reality for the students I am working with. This project will continue to motivate the students and help them learn as we will continue this project next year and the year after due to the fact that almost all of the materials are non-consumable so it will have minimal costs for us in the future.
We can not thank you enough for your generosity and the amount of excitement and motivation you all have helped to provide our students. Thank you again. We can not wait to be able to share some of the pictures and writing with you in the very near future.”
With gratitude,
Mrs. McGaughey
Wake Up and Read!
Funded Jan 4, 2011I just want to take this opportunity to thank all of you for your generosity in donating to this project. The students are so excited about all of the new books from this project and they are helping us in so many ways. The students are always motivated to continue reading with new books in hand. Some of these books were also new additions to our listening center which has also been most enjoyable for the students.
These books have been very exciting to the students and have really motivated them to read more. Thank you again for your donations and help with funding this project. ”

Funded Nov 29, 2010Thank you so much for your donation to this project. The materials that you helped provide through your contributions have made a huge difference in my classroom. Having pencils, notebooks, erasers, and markers to use each day have taken the stress of having to find materials away. Having the table caddies and tubs to help organize our materials have eliminated wasted time trying to find materials as well.
We truly appreciate your support and helping us with these materials through this project. The students were so excited to receive the new materials and have taken extra responsibility and care of our new materials and their personal belongings. By helping to fund this project, you have helped maximize our instruction and learning time in the classroom.
Thank you again for your generosity and continued support of education.”

Funded Jul 25, 2010I want to thank all of you for helping with this project. Books are such an exciting and important part of our education. The students love getting new books to read, and which help motivate them to read even more. These books will definitely help the students in my classroom continue to read and enjoy wonderful stories.
Children are always trying to find new and exciting books to read that capture their interest. When they find ones they like, they devour them quickly. It is sometimes difficult to keep our shelves stocked with all of the new books and series that children are finding interest in.
I am so grateful for your contributions to this project. I know these books will be well used and appreciated. Your generosity is beyond words. Thank you again.”

Station Creation
Funded Apr 23, 2010This thank you letter should serve as a small token of my gratitude for your generous donation to my literacy station project. These literacy center materials have been a wonderful addition to our literacy skills practice.
The students have used these literacy stations excitedly in our reading class. They love all of the new materials and different ways of improving their skills. The Reader's Theater cards have really helped them work on their fluency skills that they practice daily. We have used the eggspert and concept cards to practice the skills that the students should be applying to their reading practices everyday. The Vocabulary Quiz Game Show provides us a fun and exciting way to begin each day reviewing concepts that they have learned. Many of the skills covered by these literacy stations are skills that the students often have difficulty with. Your donation has already had a huge impact on helping the students improve their reading skills and abilities.
Again, thank you so much for your donation to this project. Donors like yourself are making a profound impact on the quality of education that so many students across the United States receive.”

Funded Apr 23, 2010This is just a small token of my gratitude for your generous donation to my project. The listening center that your donation helped us receive has been very well used. The students thoroughly enjoy listening to books on tapes and CDs.
This listening center is exposing the students to more literature and helping them improve their reading skills as well. They really like listening to other people reading the books with accents and expression. I can see and hear them trying some of these same skills in their own reading fluency practices. Following along in the books is also helping them increase their reading vocabulary because they are able to listen and understand a little bit higher level than what they can read independently, so this is helping expose them to new words and concepts.
Again, thank you so much for your generous donation to this listening center. You have helped make a tremendous impact on the reading abilities of many students. ”
