  • Multiliteracies in the Classroom-Empowering Students to Dream Big.

    Funded Dec 25, 2024

I lack of the words to express my immerse gratitude for your generosity. You are making possible for minority students to access this wonderful bilingual book based on the story of a Mexican farmer that worked hard to achieve his dream of becoming an astronaut. Who knows how many dreams you will be fueling through your meaningful donation. Thank you from the bottom of my heart,”

    With gratitude,

    Ms. Antunez

  • Learning Literacy and Math skills, Coding and Drawing with OSMO

    Funded Dec 24, 2022

Thank you so much for providing the financial support to buy OSMO materials for our school. It has taken us a little bit more than expected to be able to use OSMO on the school ipads since we had to request being able to download the application on the school ipads. But now we are set and ready, so students could open the packages just last week, and they are really excited with using them for the rest of the school year, and the years to come.

We have a great number of students that are already enjoying learning more English, more Math, and more reading by playing with the OSMO interactive games.

Thank you for all your support. It means the world to us, educators, and our students. We won't be able to provide so many wonderful opportunities without your support and your generosity. Thank you for making this happen!!”

    With gratitude,

    Ms. Antunez

  • Soccer Equipment for Soccer Stars!!

    Funded Feb 8, 2023

I can't believe our kids were able to play soccer this school year!! and it was everything thanks to you!!!. Tuesdays Soccer Club was packed with students showing us their big smiles because they were able to do what they love the most!!

Having a soccer club in our school has really made a difference in our community. The students felt valued and their voices heard. Not only students were happy, but teachers were also delighted. This year, the students organized the first volleyball game teachers vs students; and although there was no time to do the same thing with Soccer; we will make this a priority next year.

What a power you, donors have!. A little of money means so much for us and for our students. With your help, we are able to accomplish more and offer more. It really takes a village to raise a kid, and you are that village.”

    With gratitude,

    Ms. Antunez

  • Engaging Citizen Scientists

    Funded Dec 29, 2021

A million thank you's for donating to our classroom. You made a difference into my students' lives; and hour kindness does not go unnoticed. I have been a science teacher for 20 years, and one of the projects that engage students the most is studying waterways. Here in NYC we are very lucky to live by the Hudson River. With your support, I was able to take my students to the Hudson River and study the water quality of our river.

Thank you so much for providing the resources, so my multilingual, immigrant students have access to the education they deserve. Our students and myself are forever grateful,

    Laura”

  • Hygiene Kits For Teen Girls

    Funded Aug 2, 2022

Our 8th grade students prepared a presentation and talked to our 6th graders about periods and hygiene. It was such an engaging conversation!! Our 6th graders had questions and their "big sisters" had answers!! At the end of the activity, our 6th graders walked home with an hygiene kit and with a first period kit. You, donors, are the ones that made this happen!! Our dear 6 graders, come from all backgrounds, and it was such a gift to see them engaging in conversations that really show women coming together.

Thank you so much for making this happen!”

    With gratitude,

    Ms. Antunez

  • Wanted: Scientists in the Making

    Funded Dec 26, 2021

A million thank you's for donating to our classroom. You made a difference into my students' lives; and hour kindness does not go unnoticed. It is thanks to people like you that my students, 98% coming from minorities and low income families, are able to access the education they deserve.

Thanks to you my students are able to feel like scientists. They now have white boards to design experiments and show their thinking, poster boards to write scientific information, a water testing kit to check the quality of the water in the neighborhood and markers.

Thank you so much for your generosity,

It is with so much gratitude that I accept your donation on behalf of my students. I have been teaching for 20 years and was able to bring creative lessons and open-minded projects to my students just because you were supporting my classroom throughout the years. It takes a village, they say. And you are that village.”

Thank you so much for your generosity. I am beyond honored that you decided to help funding my project. This news just made my students' day and my day. Your altruism is making a difference in the education of my students, and I am grateful for that. Thank you for believing in each of our students.”

    With gratitude,

    Ms. Antunez

My students are turning into scientists this year. They are going deep into the scientific method, clinical trials, the placebo effect, establishing experiments, and drawing conclusions. They are also learning English. 90% of my students just arrived to New York from their country of origin. There are 9 different countries represented in my classroom, and students speak 6 different languages collectively. They need a lot of support to learn English, navigate a new culture and making new friends; and at the same time, they are still enthusiastic about being in school, and becoming scientists, artists and historians. They are wonderful middle schoolers that come everyday to class with a big smile and big dreams.
