Learning to code seems to the average person as a scary and daunting task. Luckily, several computer engineers have created programs to assist students in learning how to code. Last year my students learned how to do coding through hour of code. The free program allowed the students to create basic programs that their character could follow a series of commands. This is the basis for video game design. But, I want to be able to take students out of their world and introduce them to a bigger world. The spider drones are programmable from iPads and would be used only indoors in our gym. Each drone can be programed through a series of block coding. Then each drone has to complete the task as programmed. This type of programming causes student to think and problem solve when things don't go as planned.
