The use of an iPad using the free Shutterfly classroom app would be use daily to review lesson objectives and learning activities, as well as upcoming events in our classroom and at our school with the children and parents. The Shutterfly classroom app allows our parents to see current learning objectives, see students' progress and work, and provide an easy place to share class work. This Shutterfly website will be updated daily. Pictures taken of classroom accomplishments will be placed on the website and available for the parents to use/keep to remember first grade moments.
By having the iPad and using the Shutterfly App our class can take photos anywhere at anytime (not just in the classroom). The iPad Shutterfly app also lets parents leave questions/comments and be involved in their child's learning when they physically can't be with their child throughout the school day. The goal of this project is well-informed, active parents will help promote greater student success and increase the bond of home/school relationships.
As a bonus, our class would also like to use the free "Plickers" app that can be used as a quick, formative assessments using QR code cards that are scanned using the iPad mini to see if the child has come up with the correct answer. This valuable information helps guide lesson planning and objectives.
By donating to our project, you will help form a bond between school and home. Plus in this technology literate world, the use of interactive newsletters and classroom assessments can help increase student achievement. Thank you for your consideration!
