  • My S.E.a.T (Students Excelling Academically Today)

    We thank you for your donations of our flexible seating. My students wanted to know who sent the seats? Why did they send the seats? They inspected the boxes, removed the items ( as they counted the seats and named the colors) and located a place in the room for the seats to be positioned. I explained to the students that the seats were donated with love and the donors wanted to provide flexible seating to enhance your learning environment. The students prefer to sit on the carpet during whole group and especially independent activities. Th students are able to learn in an environment that's comfortable and just for them.

  • Jazz + Education = Smooth Learning

    The classroom environment is more relaxed with the bean bags, the swivel stools and the banana-grams. These items allow the students to relax while learning. The jazz music plays a big part in this daily learning as it brings calmness into the atmosphere.

    My students look forward to having their independent time while creating words, learning their alphabet or shapes and just having quiet time.

    All that jazz makes our classroom a place for smooth learning.

    Dear Donors:

    Once again, I want to thank you for your donation to my SPED Techies. As we know technology is the way of the world and we must embrace technology with an open mind. Most of my students can operate computers or telephones better than their parents which tells me, they can learn. The key to keeping my students engaged is through technology.

    The LeapFrog is beneficial to two of my students(ID and FD)that perform below grade level and exhibit negative behavior but the LeapFrog provides them with the self-control and engagement. Once on the LeapFrog, they are quiet, engaged and independent.

    The mini-pads provide a range of educational games, interactive reading and math programs for the more independent student. The two different types of technology allows for my students instruction to be differentiated.

    Even though my students have various learning disabilities, technology is the same for everyone and it allows my students to learn without any restrictions.”
