This project is focused on creating a flexible seating classroom that focuses on my students needs as well as providing tools and toys that allow them to learn through play. It's important that my students have these options available to them to get them ready for Kindergarten. At this age, students are still learning through play and hands on activities! It's very important that they are able to explore different activities that challenge them as well as the ability to get creative and use their imagination. I plan on using these toys and tools to help them develop cognitive, social skills interactions, and emotional skills in our classroom. Also, at this age, flexible seating is important to have as my students move about the classroom and have the wiggles. Wobbly chairs, kneeling pads, wobbly cushions stability balls and pillows are options for my students who need to move around and wiggle to focus on a classroom activity. With flexible seating as an option to my students so early on in their education, they can begin to learn what helps them work best in the classroom!
