Thank you so much for your generosity! Although we are on strike right now when we return these items will be greatly needed, especially with Chicago winter coming. Again, we thank you for supporting us with these everyday necessities. These supplies will help us stay healthy, maintain a healthy classroom environment to continue breaking barriers!”

Thank you so much for your generosity! The kids are so excited about the new technology. This allows more students to be able to work in our intervention program at one time and gives them more time on task as well.
The students have been working diligently on making progress on their reading. Practicing skills that they are having trouble with. They are also able to use another supplemental program that helps strengthen their reading and move them closer to grade level.
Again we thank you for the donations!”

We really appreciate your generosity! The students have been able to work more efficiently in class. We use them for the READ 180 program which students have been making AMAZING progress in this year. They are able to spend more time in the program because of the extra technology in the class. They also have helped a lot with the standardized testing as all of our assessments are taken online. Another way students have utilized the chromebooks is by using them to complete in class assignments, research and completing online projects. Thank you again for all of your support and generosity!”

We are so thankful for your donations! The headphones have been a great addition to our classroom! Students are able to work with in the READ 180 program with no interruptions. The students are now more engaged in the program and its effects can be seen across curriculum's. This time last year we lost so much time fussing with the headphones and usb pieces that would break or not work properly. Now students are able to hear the directions clearly and follow the prompts given. As well as, record themselves reading to help students with their fluency and reading rate. Again, we are so thankful for your generosity and spirit of giving back.”

My scholars are those who have some struggles with reading and comprehension. These scholars use a reading intervention program Read 180 to help with some of those deficiencies. Along with Read 180 scholars are pushed to read challenging texts independently and with literature circles. Being scholars at an inner city school with Chicago Public Schools resources and funds are not always readily available. It is imperative for these students to have proper technology along with accessories to utilize all of the resources available to them as well has having a wide range of books that will allow students to read books of interest as well as those that promote social justice, differences and range in literary styles with literary merit. Thank you for your help to ensure that these 21st century scholars are ready and prepared with the skills they will need to compete with their peers on a global level!
