  • Painting Memories

    Funded May 24, 2018

I want to thank you so much for donating to my Painting memories project. I wish I could have had my camera when the easel came and we took it out of the box. The children all cheered and had huge smiles on their faces. They were ready to paint as soon as we had it set up! We have already filled our classroom with many beautiful paintings!

One of the first painting projects we did was to paint a self-portrait. The children took such care as to pick out the correct paint color and where to place all the details of their painting. They looked like true artists working at their easels. All they needed was a beret!

We will soon be doing a construction project and we plan to use the easels to paint our plans for our construction project. I am so looking forward to see what the children come up with.”

    With gratitude,

    Mrs. Shaffer

  • Markers, Crayons And Paper! Oh My!

    Funded Aug 23, 2017

Thank you so much for supporting our project. The children love being able to go and work on their writing . During free choice, the students are allowed to pick the centers where they would like to visit. Our new writing center always has a children waiting . We had to limit it to two children at a time so that the children that are there could sit and use the materials comfortably.

The first day that the writing center was open the students were so excited! They loved using the new colored pencils, stickers , envelopes, crayons, markers, scissors, and colored paper that were there for them. We have seen a huge peak in their interest in writing since we have gotten the new writing center. They are always asking us how to spell certain words. The children dictionary in that center is getting quite a work out!

Thank you again for your extreme generosity.”

    With gratitude,

    Mrs. Shaffer

  • Soft Seats

    Funded Mar 19, 2017

I want to thank you so much for your generous donations that made it possible for us to get these new pillows for my Pre-K students. I have always believed that if my students have nice things when they come to school they will take pride in their surroundings and will care for the belongings in the room.

I have placed these two new pillows with two existing pillows in my technology center. The children have used the pillows to sit or lie on while they are working on their tablets. The students are quite happy that now everyone that is working on a tablet has a soft, comfortable pillow to chill on!”

    With gratitude,

    Mrs. Shaffer

  • Fire Up with Technology

    Funded Nov 2, 2016

Thank you so much for purchasing the Kindle Fires for our classroom! The students in the classroom love using them! We have technology time everyday during free choice and during group time. I have purchased many educational apps for the tablets and the children already have their favorite games. They love to be able to trace their letters and cook with Max and Ruby! It has helped all the students with learning to follow oral directions and their fine motor skills. Some of my students that have struggled with letter recognition are doing so much better since we have gotten the tablets because of the way that ABC Mouse and some other apps work with the children.

Thank you for helping to introduce technology to our pre-k children! We are so lucky to have all of you!”

    With gratitude,

    Mrs. Shaffer

I am hoping to get these ipads for my pre-school room because technology is so important in the classroom. I would say the greater percentage of my students have not been exposed to ipads or computers in their home environment, and I want them to be comfortable with using technology. I plan on using these ipads and headphones in learning centers where they will be able to work independently on letter recognition, number recognition, and learning their shapes and colors. We will using the ABC mouse program and I have just started using Seesaw in the classroom to keep their parents updated on their child's progress in the classroom..
