We have decided to design a sensory room with the space available in our class. My assistants and I are building and painting as much as we can, but there are some things we just cannot do ourselves. We have researched the best sensory equipment for the needs of the students in our classroom. Using lights, sounds, fidget toys, compression seating, and interactive activities, we can help the students in our class to calm and focus during the school day. Having a sensory area inside the classroom, with everything we need, will allow us to aid in reaching each student's maximum potential. We will be able to focus more on academics and less on behavior, increasing the chances for everyone in the room to meet his or her individual goals.
