Teachers today use computers to record grades, calculate averages, manage attendance and access data on student performance in online programs and assessments. Computers have also made it easier for teachers to vary their instructional delivery. I use technology to guide my daily lessons in power-point formats, watch educational as well as entertaining videos, and also as a way to give online lessons to my students.
Having innovative technology in my classroom will definitely help benefit my students. We live in a world in which kids know everything about computers and how to use them. This device will be used as I conduct daily small groups with my students. The Macbook will help with data and lesson planning throughout the day and by engaging students in substantive, collaborative, project-based work in reading, math, and science. Laptops also make collaborative planning (with parents) and group communication easier. Laptops are portable, which makes it easier to transport from class to class and from desk to desk.
I feel that it is important for both teachers and students to learn and be familiar with using a computer to gather information and distribute ideas.
