With a variety of classroom seating options available, students will have the opportunity to chose an environment that is conducive to their personal needs. Students will gain the ability to chose what works best for their learning style and reflect on their personal work preference. Lap desks will allow students to utilize floor and rug space and provide them with a hard surface for writing and designing. Each of the wobble cushions will be placed on chairs for students who need to constantly move or wiggle to keep their attention. The stability balls provide an even higher level of movement for students. The balls allow students to focus, not only on balance, but posture as well. Remaining focused throughout the day is a challenge for all students in a typical classroom environment, and providing students with different seating options allows them to take ownership of their learning environment. Students will have the opportunity to chose what works best for them to achieve maximum focus and engagement. Students will be introduced to each seating option available before choosing the one that fits their needs. As adults, we do this on a daily basis: "Do I stay in the office to finish this proposal or will my desk at home be a better place to focus?" It's time that we give students the same options and allow them to take ownership of their work environments.
