  • Learning to Love Reading

    Funded Dec 30, 2021

I cannot thank you enough for your generous donations to our classroom's Donors choose project. This project has impacted our classroom greatly. With your generosity we have had the opportunity to add countless new books to our classroom library. This has sparked a passion for reading among my students. Some of the books that were purchased were purely for the enjoyment of leisurely reading and others were purchased with a lesson in mind. A few of the box sets I have utilized in my classroom to help enhance my student's social emotional learning. My students have even gone as far to teach younger students in our school about social emotional skills while using these books. Again, we cannot thank you enough for helping out our classroom and giving us the library of our dreams.”

    With gratitude,

    Mrs. Bruns

  • Enhance Learning Through Play

    Funded Sep 27, 2021

What an amazing opportunity you have provided for my students. They are loving the time that they get to use these games and stem activities. These items have helped my students learn to collaborate effectively and have helped their communication skills. For some of my students, learning to speak what they are feeling or even having the opportunity to learn to share has been very beneficial. Some of their favorite things to play with have been the giant sorry game, the magnatiles, and kerplunk. They have even enjoyed getting the chance to teach each other chess! We want to thank you with our whole heart for contributing and funding this project.”

    With gratitude,

    Mrs. Bruns

Most students look forward to recess. I want to have the ability to help my kids learn through play. The best way to learn how to collaborate, effectively communicate, and take turns is through play. My students enjoy spending quality time together in a non-academic setting. The games listed are ones that my student are wanting and have asked for. I also loved the idea that my students wanted a very wide range of games and stem items. This ensures that every child can play with something that sparks their creative mind!
