Cooperation Is the Key
Funded Aug 12, 2023My class was so excited when they saw all the new resources that were received from this project! I was able to have it on display for families to see at our meet the teacher event.
The students have enjoyed the sidewalk chalk not only outside but also inside when we did an activity about pollination and used it to show how bees transfer pollen from flower to flower. The students are loving all the new floor puzzles and are learning to work cooperatively to complete them.
The cooperative games are a nice addition to our rotations. They have enjoyed learning how to play new games and work together instead of in competition.”

This classroom project was brought to life by The State of Oklahoma.Express Yourself 2.0!
Funded Nov 2, 2022We are so grateful for the new art supplies and learning tools! We are enjoying expressing ourselves through art and can't wait to explore the other supplies throughout the year. We also LOVE the new alphabet games and nuts about math set. Some of the art ideas have taken some adjustments but we are getting there. Fun times are ahead. There is a variety of supplies that we have not had before and we are excited to use them. I am hoping to instill a love for art and keep them open-minded to express themselves freely throughout their lives!”

This classroom project was brought to life by Oklahoma State Department of Education.Express Yourself!
Funded Aug 12, 2022We love all the resources from this project! We have loved exploring the books so far and several are in the plans for the next few weeks. The manipulatives are amazing too!
The favorite resource is by far the tempera paint sticks. The class absolutely loves using them. We used them for our Arbor Day coloring contest and they made beautiful trees.
We plan to use the rest of the resources to continue expressing ourselves throughout the year. Using all these resources had given Mrs. Brunnemer some new ideas for another Express Yourself project!”

This classroom project was brought to life by Bill Gates and 5 other donors.Operation Organization!
Funded Feb 27, 2022When my students saw the boxes they were excited to see what was in them! I was SUPER excited because my closet was out of control and unorganized!
I came up and organized the closet during Spring Break! I feel amazing having everything in its place, organized and labeled. I am ready to organize the rest of the room now! I also feel the closet is safer for my students to shelter in place in the event of an emergency!
In true Pre-K fashion we saved the boxes and decorated them. The kids are LOVING playing in them and using their creativity!”

Show Me the Science!
Funded Feb 8, 2022My class was SO excited to see all the new science resources! They could hardly wait to get their hands on them!
We did a bug unit and they loved the real bugs and the Science experiment sorting. We also used the simple machines set with our blocks and they built ramps. We are currently studying plants and are using the Hydroponics system. We did the science kit earlier in the week and they stamped the parts of the plant.
I am so thankful for all these new resources and can't wait to implement the rest of them!”

This classroom project was brought to life by Panda Cares and one other donor.Bring Light Into Our Classroom!
Funded Apr 9, 2019My class was so excited to receive the materials and light board from our project. I waited until they were there to unpack all the boxes and they couldn't wait to try them out. We had a sensory table already so these items can be used in both areas which is AWESOME! The first thing I let them do is choose which sensory item we wanted to explore first. They chose the rings and I loaded them in to the table and they got to feel them and see them with the light on. They couldn't wait for me to put it out at a center.
We have used the items in our literacy rotations so far. I was excited that they came in before this school year ended so that we could use them a little before school got out! It was really important as some of the donors were from this class. We have used two of the sensory items, the balls and the rings, and the kids LOVED them! They were pretty good about keeping them in the tub. The balls would hit the floor and roll clear across the room! We also used the letters one week to work on learning our alphabet. The kids were so proud when they could sequence it correctly! I look forward to using these items for many years to come!
From this project I picked out many great resources but there are many more manipulatives out there to use with the table and the sensory tub. I plan to gradually add new things. I many even write a new project to supplement the items that I got this time. I am so thankful for all the donors who choose to support my projects!”

Mrs. B's Pre-K Gets Sensory Fun!
Funded Nov 12, 2016My class just loves our new sensory table!!! They can not wait to see what new items I put it in when I switch out the centers. They love getting in and making a mess! They love exploring the different items!
We studied the letter S and we had sand and seashells in the table. They love the feel of the sand and seeing all the different types of shells.
My students didn't know what it was at first but they soon figured it out as I began assembling it and were so excited to see what was going to be the first thing added to it!
I am so thankful that I got to re-introduce this concept into my current classroom. It is such an important thing for them to get to explore their environment.”

Our Motivating PreK Learning Adventure with Osmo and Tiggly
Funded Jun 2, 2016We have just started using the new products! Our school year is getting under way. We have learned about shapes and colors the first month of school. As we started studying the alphabet I thought the Tiggly shapes sets were a great way to review and reinforce what we have already learned. I had them at one of our literacy stations this week and the kids LOVED them! They couldn't wait until their turn came to be at the Ipads station. It was especially appealing to our special education student. She really was able to manipulate and enjoy a new way to learn.
As the school year progresses, I will be introducing the Tiggly Math during our math time. It will reinforce skills we are learning throughout the year. The Tiggly Words will be used by our most advanced students towards the end of the year.
The Osmo learning system will be a great addition to our class. The first thing I plan to use it for is name writing. The students will take a picture of their name and it will reflect on dry erase boards or paper so they can trace the letters. I am so thrilled with the opportunities that we will be able to utilize in the class this year with all the technology additions.”
