  • Book Bags, Notebooks, Pencils Oh My!

    Funded May 18, 2020

Thank you so very much for the kind gift of notebooks and pens for my awesome students. They were thrilled to receive the color coded notebooks. The pens were also fantastic. Really, who doesn't love a good gel pen.

Note books sound like such a simple item for a child in school, but with the Coronavirus and unemployment they were welcomed not only by the children, but also by their parents.

But I have to say, the drawstring book bag had the biggest reaction. Many of my students felt they now had a place to store all of their materials.

Thank you again for making a difficult school year a little better for my students.

    You are the very BEST!”

    With gratitude,

    Ms. Fuller

  • TeacherPayTeacher Gift Card For Amazing Distance Learning

    Funded May 18, 2020

The impact of the Teacher Pay Teacher gift cards was felt immediately by myself and my students. The gift cards enabled me to find lessons that were colorful and interactive. I no longer stressed at the lack of my technology skills. The gift cards almost made teaching fun again for myself but more importantly for my students.

We did an under the sea unit that was just awesome because I was able to locate great lessons on TPT. We even did an escape room, which was loads of fun.

    You are the BEST!”

  • Toon Books For Reading Part 2

    Funded Mar 9, 2020

Thank you so very much for the generous donation you have made to my children. Before we were forced to do distance learning I had already informed my students about the great graphic novels we were going to receive. They were very excited to hear the news.

When we finally go back to school I am positive my students are going to be thrilled to receive and read our new books. The up-side of distance learning is that children now have a full appreciation of school and are craving to hold and read books. Sometimes reading on line can be boring.

    You are the BEST!”

  • A Snack a Day Keeps the Hunger Away!

    Funded Jan 28, 2020

I can not describe the thrill that ran through the classroom as all the snacks were delivered. Everyone's eyes were open wide at the sight of all the goodies.

Luckily, we received our delivery right before snack time. The vote was for everyone to have a Pringles. It was the quietest snack time I ever had. They actually read during snack instead of taking it as a time for social opportunity.

We also had snacks for our class trip to the Museum. Everyone was happy to stick a bag of cookies in their pocket for the long bus trip.

    You are the BEST!”

    With gratitude,

    Ms. Fuller

  • Family Engagement Is Cool!

    Funded Oct 7, 2019

My students are having a blast using the interactive globe with our new iPad. They are learning to use the globe first, so that when their parents come into our classroom, they can act as the teacher.

I have to say, this globe is fantastic. We have explored different cultures, animals and cuisine from around the world.

The colored pencils are always a hit for my students. They love to create and are making welcome signs for their families. Pencils always look so much better than crayon or markers.

    You are the BEST!”

  • Financial Literacy At Its Best Part 2

    Funded Oct 7, 2019

The power the Samsung chromebook has on a class is absolutely amazing. My students were stunned and thrilled to be able to use computers in our classroom.

First though we had to discuss financial literacy, what it means and how we are going to use the computer to reinforce our learning.

Sometimes I forget how tech savvy even young children are and how quickly they learn to navigate the internet.

Currently I am setting up a web quest for my students. They will be able to really see the results of earning, saving and investing.

    You are the BEST!”

  • We Need Weekly Agendas For Organization!

    Funded Aug 13, 2019

Thank you so very much for the wonderful agendas. They arrived on Thursday and my class was thrilled to have a new way of organizing their homework.

It was so lovely to see the look of pride on their faces when we wrote our homework into the agendas. The list of spelling words looked so nice and neat and orderly.

Children must learn to be organized in order to succeed and the lesson is a little easier when you are young.

Plus, we started working on the learning habits, which is the start of the book. Really awesome lessons.”

My students are desperate to be able to use a Microsoft Surface Pro 4 to add a little art to our literacy. The Surface Pro is like a chameleon. It can change into whatever my students need during any reading lesson. Versatility wins the day when teaching children to read and write. We want to write and create fascinating stories that can be animated and preserved on a computer. Imagine the glow of pride when my students not only write, but also produce short stories and plays on a computer. Then they can take their work to the next level and actually perform their original work on stage for the school. The adjustments that might be necessary would be seamless when it is just a click of a key on the computer. Thank you for your consideration.
