The stability chairs will not directly teach my students the skills they need to know but they will target my students' need to move in positive and productive way. The donation will decrease my fidgety, off-task middle schoolers from wasting precious learning time because they will have a means to constructively use their energy all while being actively engaged in learning. Having an engaged core means -->stronger core muscles--> stronger back muscles which translates in better posture, improved handwriting, and ultimately--active learning with clarity and focus that only subtle daily movement can provide while being seated. Simply stated, decreasing off task behaviors will exponentially increase active learning which in turn will bridge the achievement gap.
