Cooperative Learning can be described as "an educational approach which aims to organize classroom activities into academic and social learning experiences". The kidney table that is on my wish list would give my students the opportunity to socially interact with their peers and with me. I would take full advantage of this table because I believe that all students are different, they all have different learning strengths and weaknesses. By having this table I will be able to help students that are struggling with the same problems, while they are able to interact with each other! Being a first-year teacher, I am not able to buy this for myself or for my students so I would LOVE the chance to be able to provide this group learning for them. An iPad is also something that would be able to help my students learn to their utmost potential. Being in a Title I school means that the classrooms do not have all of the amazing technology that other schools have. In my classroom, I have one whiteboard and one TV. Although I am thankful for what I have, there is not much room for math problems, notes, and allowing students to interact with technology in the classroom. This iPad will allow me to write on worksheet pages and show examples that can be cast onto the TV. Also, students love iPads and they are always more inclined to work harder if they have a chance to play on the iPad. I know that these two items are expensive, and I completely understand that they are a lot to ask for. But, I know that these two items would impact my students and classroom environment immensely. I am so excited to be a first-year teacher! Thank you!
